The definitive guide by Sandy Petersen. New rules and over 100 monsters for the Cthulhu Mythos plus tons of 28mm scale miniatures.
All,
I just uploaded the Monster Bestiary PDF into backerkit!
The physical version of this deck was a stretch goal that only goes to those who pledged for $100 or more. However, this digital download (which is the same content as that in the book) is for everyone!
In case you forgot about this - the intent was to have a set of cards showing the stat blocks for our bestiary.
Look for the download link in your emails (from Backerkit)! Or, you should be able to login to Backerkit and download it directly from there.
Thanks!
- Arthur
All,
Thanks to the sharp eyes of Paul Ryan, a slightly improved PDF will be sent out by BackerKit.
It's free for us to re-send, so while this was unplanned, it's no problem. Thank you, Ryan, who identified 4 small typos (and to quote him, "I only spotted four in 500+ pages. Good writing and good editing."). My reaction is - how the hell did you read all 500 pages that fast!?
In any case, I'm uploading it to BackerKit now, so you'll get another email from them today or at least this week.
Also, since we only barely sent the printer files to the printer, we had time to make these corrections for print as well! So, they will be corrected in the physical versions you will get.
Also, if you haven't heard yet, we launched another Cthulhu related Kickstarter on Monday aptly titled Evil High Priest. If you are interested in more Cthulhu gaming goodness from the Great Old Bald One, please click the image below:
.
One of the many key lessons we learned throughout THIS project here, is that we should never launch a Kickstarter without EVERYTHING designed, written, edited, and even laid out! And so, Evil High Priest represents that new operating procedure - it was entirely finished before we pressed go on the Kickstarter page. While we cannot go back in time to re-do the Pathfinder book (hey, we're not Yithians!), we can learn from our mistakes. Evil High Priest will likely arrive mid next year - only a few months after the Pathfinder book!

Look for it in your email!
Based on information from our printer and shippers, the timeline estimate I have right now is that our fulfillment warehouses will have the books in about 3 months, meaning in roughly 4 months you'll have the physical book in hand. (The fourth month is to account for the final order processing and mail FROM the fulfillment centers to YOUR HOME).
I know that it has been a long road - especially given how long ago this Kickstarter launched, but now the end game is brightly in sight.
This book is far more massive than we anticipated during the Kickstarter - but it is also far more glorious. It is a masterpiece of the Cthulhu Mythos in role-playing, and will stand the test of time. I have been as frustrated as anyone due to the delays (trust me - just ask anyone here at Petersen Games - talking about the delays in this book is a trigger for me!). BUT, if you intend to play Pathfinder, or intend to simply be interested in the Cthulhu Mythos for years to come, then this book will be one of the centerpieces of your gaming library.
Our calculation was that a rushed book would mean its usefulness would be temporary or non-existent. And to take a little more time than we thought to make it just right, we would follow the advice of another grand master game designer Shigeru Miyamoto who once said "a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad."
When you get your email, I hope to hear howls and shrieks of Iä! Iä! Cthulhu fhtagn across the vastness of the internet! The Yellow Sign has been Found!
